Default Things I dont understand

well today I dont understand;
while getting gas at the station on Talmadge and Vosseller I noticed a dump truck full of dirt going over the tracks..When I asked Don, the owner of the station, what it was he said its for the dirt walls for the flood project which is almost done..now if they are bringing in dirt why not use the dirt from the CP mountain on the chemical site...? 2 birds one stone..go figure....

Come on JD don't you know that you are asking too much? That would be too hard for anyone to think up around these parts. It sure would save some money in trucking fees and my bet is the dirt from the dirt pile would be free dirt whereas they (who ever they are) are probably paying for the dirt they are hauling in. Makes too much sense as I said for anyone to even consider.

This was asked a long time ago by Karen Carroll. She was told the dirt here didn't have the right clay content or some damn thing. Of course we couldn't mix it or something, right?

Stay on this

Not to start an argument, Brad, but better read the dirt pile thread. Way back in the beginning, apparently, it was the owner of the property that contacted the Army Corps to ascertain if the dirt would be suitable for the levees. Nice try at a political plug.

Yikes NO not BBBrad the caring and sharing member--a political plug----

Politics in BB ----------

Phyllis didnt YOU also inquire about the use of the dirt for the project---???

I remember hearing about the dirt pile not having the clay consistency needed for the birms---

Whats really in that dirt---??? Does anybody know---??? And WHY is it still there---???---

because as I said its a legal thing now and thats a long long time...guess the good intentions and all that money he spent is not so good and not enough ..right pyl......they can pass the buck all they want its their mess and they are getting away without having to clean it up .. only thing they did was to move the dirt off the project thats all the Army corp was interested in and the rest is a BB problem and thats going to take a really long time..maybe Tony should spend more time on the issues then worry about the Riverfest....

Sorry Phyllis, if more than one person explored an idea. The issue is nothing came of it and the Mayor and Council aren't pursuing it? Why not? Was the dirt ever tested or do we just take what people say at face value.

Brooker, I'm not involved in politics at all right now. Believe what you want.
